View Full Version : Cesar The great
What do you all think of Cesar Milan? I for one think he is absolutely fantastic and when I watch his programmes, I am in awe of him. I have never read any of his books but to watch this man in action is unbelievable and I think he is the world's greatest.

Put it this way - I was distraught when I found out he was married...
I think his training techniques are really good, and I know one of the women who run my obedience class uses his techniques and swears by them (although they don't work on Wicket!). The only thing that ever annoyed me was when he said that dogs don't feel love, they just follow leadership and respect you rather than love you ... Rubbish! My dogs love me and they know I love them.

This guy is brilliant and I missed it last week. I wish I could afford to have him here if only just to personally watch him in action and just to see if he can actually get my apso's to do exactly as he asks!!!       that would be very interesting

He's good but he's not that good. Apsos are something else! I've tried all his technique and all the techniques from books to stop Wicket (and now Raven) from barking their heads off when someone comes to the door. I still haven't been able to take down the puppy gate from when I got Raven. As soon as the front door opens they charge at whoever is there.
(Although I do love Cesar's Lhasa Luigi)

Thats just reminded me...my friend at work has a 6 month old pup that barks endlessly when left....so I tried being helpful and giving her my bottle of D.A.P. spray which I bought for Diesel to calm him at the groomers......
Well, she reliably informed me after the weekend that the only effect it had on him was that he was running around showing his red rocket off for all and sundry to see!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o Ooooooh I was soooooo embarrassed!!!!!!!!!!  :D

When I used the dap plug in, my two showed no reaction at all. They were just the same. But my sisters rottie came into my kitchen where it was plugged in and he was floored by it. He just wanted to lie down in there and sleep. Usually he's straight out the back getting chased by raven while he chases wicket (one day he'll catch wicket and it won't be a pretty sight - not for wicket coz diesel is harmless, but diesel might get a sore face!).
