Raven didn't deserve to do any better. She was choking round the ring. I was practicing with her before I went in the ring and she was walking perfectly, but once we were in the ring she was choking while walking so I've realised it's me. My nerves are going down the lead and it's making her choke. It's not as if it's a real choke .. she's faking it!

I need to get my nerves under control. My next show is the club champ show so I need to get them sorted!

well done on being placed, if its a indoor show maybe a bit of fresh air just before you enter the ring might help, or if nothing else works a double brandy, vodka or your fave tipple :razz:xx

Oh its awful Kim when the nerves set in - for anything!!! How long have you been showing now? Im sure you said somewhere else but I cant remember. If it was me, my stomach would turn, I'd be sweating, hands would shake and I'd feel physically sick  so I dont envy you at all. xxxxxxxxxxxx

I've been showing for 6 months. I manage to control my nerves right up til I step foot in the ring then it all goes to pot. I've not got a show for ages so I'll need to just chill about it. If I wasn't nervous at all then i don't think i'd do well .. I need a wee bit of nerves to keep me on my toes but I get far far too nervous.

The time that raven won the puppy group, I wasn't nervous in the slightest. I don't know why, but when I walked into the ring, I knew Raen had won it before it even started. I can't explain it. I have no idea why I was so confident but it went down the lead to her and her write up in the paper was amazing. The judge actually commented on how confident she was! I'm just going to have to practise positive thinking and that's not easy coz i'm such a pessimist! My moto is "Expect the worse and you might get a surprise. Expect the best and the only way is down!" ... maybe I'll have to change it!

Omg I thought it was just me that was like this!!! I always think the worst and then hope for the best and I too always think "think negative and anything positive will be a bonus"...............don't we think some silly things!! xxxxx

oh of course i do, god, you shouldve seen me at skc in may, it was flynn's first champ show and his breeder had came up to see how he's doing, well i was a wreck going into the ring, and i forgot to set him up properly on the table and i was shaking taking him round the ring, so you can imagine how shocked i was when he won 1st palce and then to go in for the line up (all 1st place winners), then at border union i was late on arriving so i was a mad rush getting flynn ready and then at blackpool i wasnt so nervous when i first went in the ring but when the judge asked me and another exhibitor to go round again, then the nerves set in, and again flynn won 1st, well i was almost in tears with shock (a good shock)
im ok at open shows, but there is still some of them i get a bit nervous with, im always running to the loo hehehehehehehehehehehee xxx
