This is one of the most frightening things to happen to your Apso and I for one always check where they are in the garden to see if they are chewing plants or when we are out, I ensure that they dont eat anything they should'nt be eating.
Some of the warning signs are muscle twitches, vomiting, convulsing and total collapse. Induce vomiting immediately....... I would use salt water via a syringe.
We all know that different types of poison commands different types of treatment so if you know exactly which it is, make a mental note of it or if possible, take the offender with you to the vets and do not waste any time in getting your pooch there.
