Never underestimate the fact that our pooches would never encounter heatstroke.

Just as it affects us humans, it can affect our Apsos. They need sufficent air and copious amounts of fresh water with lots of shaded areas to cool off.

If you suspect your pooch is overheated, cool him/her down with cold water by literally pouring it over the whole of the body to lower the temperature. There will possibly be alot of panting and frothing at the mouth in severe cases and possible vomitting. Clean away any froth and vomit and head directly to your vet - covering the body with a cold, damp cover for the journey to continue to lower the temperature. Your vet will then administer drugs and observe your pooch until it is safe for your pooch to return home.
