Just a few tips...

Clipping the nails after a bath is easier because they will be softer

Putting an old pair of tights over the paw enables you to separate the nail from the fur easily

Rubbing Vaseline onto the nails when they have been clipped keeps them smooth

Use styptic powder for any bleeding

I can see where you are coming from Nancy and for those that are not sure, this would help. I dont wear tights myself so thats out lol lol lol but I do have styptic anyway. Vaseline I use for the eyes (just below) and Ive since found out that its good for their bottoms...........when its hot sun! Their 'anals' can burn if clipped back too much! xxxxxxxxxxxx

Eeeeuch!!! Sore bums!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I think the vaseline works more for if the nails have stickly bits in them, if you know what I mean?
And also, I dont know if this is an old wives tale...but have I heard somewhere that cornflour works on their nails if theres a bleed?
