Just because a plant is NOT listed here of course does not necessarily mean you should allow your pup or adult dog to eat it or chew on it regularly. As we know, puppies chew indiscriminately during teething. They should always be under supervision outdoors - and all indoor houseplants kept out of reach.

If your dog becomes ill suddenly - with vomiting and/or diarrhea with weakness and/or difficulty breathing, and there is evidence that the dog has chewed on the leaves of ANY plant, get that animal to a vet with several samples of the leaves (or berries or flowers or bulbs or seeds) that were eaten.

Thanks Nancy for putting this on. There are just so many plants that are so dangerous to our pooches than we ever realised. We have alot of Ivy in our garden of all types but thankfully, none of my three have ever tried to chew it - thank god! I used to watch them when they were all pups as a 'just in case' but luckily, they never attempted to even touch the Ivy. There were times that they tried with other plants - poisoness or not - I was always vigilant in telling them 'NO' when caught in the act.

I knew about the Cherry pips and I remember posting this on the old forum. Moreno (sp) Cherries are the worst of all - extremely toxic and fatal if not detected.

When you say PEACH ..............peach as in the peach or is this a plant called Peach ???!!!!!! xx

Common Name: Oleander
Botanic Name: Nerium oleander

Is Known for its ease as a house-plant.

Oleander is a common plant loved for is white pink or red showy flowers.

The flowers are one to three inches in diameter.

This plant can be grown into a shrub or small tree.

They are very easy to grow, and are very easy on the eyes.

However Oleander is LETHAL!!!!!!!!!!.

Nerium oleander, a member of the dogbane family (Apocynaceae),
Nerium oleander releases toxins of oleandrin and nerioside.
Nerium Oleander affects the heart rhythm and rate.

The green leaves are deadly.
Dried out leaves are also deadly.
Twigs are deadly.
Everything about this plant is deadly.

A lot of people burn these plants, the same as pampas grass's,
PLEASE BE WARNED THAT THE SMOKE FROM THESE PLANTS IS DEADLY.

One single leaf that has been near the smoke is enough to kill a child.

Poisoning is quick and fatal.

If you have to have this plant in your garden or home,
please ensure, that you dead head the flowers.
Remove any damaged or dying leaves.
Prune any damage twigs or branches.

Do not allow your Apso's near this plant,
until you have checked that no debris has fallen on the ground.

If I was you,
I would fence these plants off,
so that no access is available to your apso's.

I hope that this has answered your question.

Oh, no, sometimes be carefull of what you wish for!!!!!! I wished that Kerry would answer that post now i wish she hadn't!!!!!!!!!!!!., Seriously ,thank you Kerry , i know you have given me the facts i asked for..i will be very vigulant, i have spoken to keen gardener's who have said that animals are not as "stupid" as humans and know to stay well away, from poisionious plants as alot of them grow wild., deadly nightshade, foxglove etc.... but thanks for your advise i am actually going to phone my vet in the morning ( i am in noway second guessing you Kerry as i think you must know by now I really do hold your opioion in the most highest regard), and will be in the meantime very vigulant, my friend Debbie (fox rescuer don't know if you have seen my post bout NFWS ) say there are lots of v. poisonous plants did you know also lupins and rhodedrenham's come in that catogory? (well poisioness anyway)? and also the nursery where i bought them, as when we first visited it, we had Lulu with us and he made a fuss of her, and on my subsequent visit (without her i must add) he also knows my good friend Debbie she actually gave him a GSD.,along side of his jack russell.,i am surprised He didn't warn me??., But.. I am soo worried now i will take further advise, but thank you sooo much for putting me in the picture.. If it comes to it i WILL dig them up and be gone with them..xx P.s. didn't know either bout pampass grass had that at my old house.
