Okay guys I was trying to be a bigger person but I got this tonight. My blood is boiling worse then they were last week. I will go on the record to say that my floors were dirty when they came.

Hello Bridget,
I see you are re-advertising Abby with full akc registration. I hope you are telling people about her knee problem? I also am a bit shocked that your advertising the male with "full AKC" registration. You told me you don't do that, that normally you sell puppies with "limited" registration. I know you only registered one littler with AKC (that being Abby's litter). I feel like you deliberately scammed me with the AKC registration. I saw the ad for the male right after I requested Abby be registered AKC. you told me you would do a full AKC registration "for me because you know I'm responsible and you care about your dogs". If that is the case did you have Abby's parents checked for genetic problems? I have researched other breeders now and see most reputable breeders do that with all their dogs BEFORE they sell them to the public. I am very upset that youa re trying to sell Abby for the same amount of money I paid for her and she is not sound. People will eventually find out and have to pay for that expensive operation and have medical expenses because of arthritis later. You should give her away to a home that knows this. And stop breeding any of the dogs that pass this on. As a horse breeder I would NEVER breed any horse that is not comformationally perfect or had any genetic problems that could possibly be passed on.
I am so upset about this whole thing. WE fell in love with Abby. I waited so long for her, very excited and to find out she was not what I thought she was was devastating! I trust my vet's diagnosis because as I stated both she and her husband are vet specialists and deal with show and breeding animals every day. They both agree with her diagnosis. My son is still calling for Abby. Horrible. People will buy her thinking she will be the perfect puppy and find out she has bad problems. If they aren't smart enough to talk her to a vet and have that checked she will be deformed eventually and walk with her legs bowed out and run with one leg up because of the pain!!
I suspect, and I hope I'm wrong. that you purchased the shots yourself and gave them yourself, I think that is the scab on her neck. No vet I know of (and I have asked a few since) does not automatically worm a puppy. to do a fecal check will only show worms if they are in that sample. Most vets check the hips and knees of puppies. Especially ones that are purebreds. Your vet would have noticed it. I also suspect this because you told me if she gets the runs just give her pepto, its cheaper than a vet visit.
I am writing this because I am thoroughly disgusted with the whole issue. And the straw was to see her advertised on your site for $550. and no description of her problem. You had said you were going to have your "other vet" check her out Thursday, If you have two vets you use there is no reason for a puppy to not be wormed or to have a knee or any other problem.
The other thing is you advertised the male on hoobly for $500. with full AKC registration now your advertising him for $550. also. I hope you plan to register his litter also instead of claiming he is from the same litter as Abby.
Your business practice is very bad. you are not honest. You told me I needed to pay an extra $50.00 to have her registered AKC. I knew it only cost $25.00 for the entire litter plus $2.00 a puppy. I also knew you only registered one litter and saw your ad for the male on Hoobly, which you have removed now!!! How do you sleep nights scamming people like that? you have no integrity. You breed very unsound dogs and sell them as healthy. Your place is filthy. I wish when I first met you I ran in the opposite direction but Iw as hoping the dogs would be ok. I have to wonder how you could take that extra $50.00 from me without a conscience. I seriously thought at the last minute you would tell me just $500.00. But you saw me coming. Thing is I did my homework. Others will also.
I think sooner or later your dishonesty and lack of breeding integrity will catch up with you. Maybe all at the same time. Every puppy you have ever sold will all come back with very upset owners.
I have been in contact with very reputable breeders and without mentioning your name, told them of my experience and every one has been disgusted. I have had offers to help me find the perfect puppy and help with the showing, from people who breed national champions. One woman heads up an organization for the integrity of Lhasa apso breeders. Their goal is to stop irresponsible breeding of the breed.
So I will end this email by saying to you Shame on you for scamming people. Shame on you for scamming me and making my son get attached to Abby as well as the rest of us. Shame on you for telling me AKC is a pain in the butt to register with and they said it was easy as an internet application as long as the parentage of the puppies was not in question. (being you have two males and only registered one litter of five puppies and advertise the male from the other litter as full AKC registration. Not AKC reg. available. Shame on you for breeding dogs you know should not be bred!! and shame on you for reselling Abby as sound to some other unsuspecting person. Shame on you for not having any conscience at all. You need to change the way you do things. You need to have all your breeding dogs tested by a reliable vet for genetic problems like all other breeders of purebreds do and the ones with problems need to be neutered/spayed. You need to contact any owners of the puppies you have sold and tell them about Abby's problem. you need to either register your dogs with AKC OR APRI. You need to not charge different prices to different people and stop being so greedy. If you advertise a puppy for one price do not change it to another to make more money. Make sure you know who bred who! Take the puppies to a vet instead of doing shots yourself. I had asked you the day after I got Abby, who your vet was and you ignored my question. I do have the name on the paper work I copied it down. I can contact any vet in that area to see if you did in fact bring the puppies on June 14th to them. But I know the answer to that. If you had taken her to the vet for a check the vet would have noticed the knee problem because on a scale of one to four she was a four, four being the worst. Also a vet would have wormed her. You need to be honest. If you are going to continue the way you are you should sell your puppies without registration papers (akc would be horrified to support you with their label)and for a lot less money. and tell people exactly what they are getting.
And clean you damn house!!! ground in dog poop all over the floor and the day we came to see Abby for the first time you told me in the am you had to mop your floor!!! My husband wouldn't let our son down because of it.
I am very angry and getting more and more angry the more I think about this. Seeing your increase on the male. I copied off the hoobly ad if you wish to see it. I was going to hand a copy to you when I returned Abby. I even had it with me when we picked her up. But I let it go. Sorry I had. my mistake.

you owe myself and every other person you have sold puppies to a huge apology. I just wonder how many other people you have done this to. shame on you. sadly I think yo uhave no shame.

Good god Bridget, who the hell is this person.................the devil????? What on earth is she doing??? Has she sat for days concocting all this from a dream??? I cannot believe she could have written all this and I can't imagine how upset you must feel (well I can actually) as I would be absolutely seething at the mouth!!!! How dare she accuse you of all this!!!!

This poor excuse of a 'woman' has had her money refunded - what else does she want? Blood? I am so glad that you have Abby back and that you did not mention this forum to her because I really would not like such a person as this on here!!!!!

I am totally 'gob smacked' at the contents of this email sent to you - you must be reeling!!! You do know what you are doing Bridget so please do not let this get you down because if you didnt know what you were doing, you would not have got as far as you have today with your Lhasas!! Doesn't this tell you something?

And as for the 'mess'..............well does this person not realise that pups DO THIS !!!!!! It would be have been 'sods law' that a pup would have pooped right on cue when she arrived but this cannot be helped!!! How can we all say to our pups "now you all be good now, don't you dare poop or pee when we have visitors"...............this is so god damn unrealistic!!!! Therefore, she needs her head examining!!! Even I have all this to come and I know I will be forever cleaning and mopping but as we all know, it's all part and parcel of having pups around!!! Anyone with any educational level would know this!! This person obviously has very few brain cells that probably match those of a brick wall !!!!!!

And she is still harping on about how much they loved Abby - oh yeh!!!!! Really!!!!! I dont think she knows the meaning of the word!!!

You DO NOT have to answer to her Bridget but I will say this - if this carries on and she causes you continual unnecessary grief, you will need to see a solicitor because this is defamation of your character and you really do not need this at all.

Its easy for me to say "ignore her and keep your chin up" but you really must try to do this under the circumstances and carry on regardless.

Always remember, you have all our support on here. Love Lia xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

**Send her a copy of all our replies on here and then she will see that we have all backed you all the way along (but not the lhasaworld name) x

Yes I sent a response but not the one I really wanted to send. I talked to a friend and decided to send a nice reply. I basically told her that I took the puppy to the vets, my vet cleared her, that I'm taking her to a second vet and that I would go from there. I ended by saying that I try to make people happy but I can't make you happy and I'm sorry.

I did this so that if I have to take this to court I can say that I tried to do the right thing but this person would not leave it alone.

I'm calling both my vet and the other vet I use once they open this morning. I plan to ask my vet for a complete statement including that she saw the puppy on 6/14, gave it shots, did a fecal, found no worms, examined her and again saw her on 6/25 and found no problems with the knee. I also plan to take the mom and dad into the vets for her to examine and write a statement as to their conditions.

I will ask the second vet to do the same write a statement as to the condition of the puppy.

I have saved and printed all of the emails that I have received. I have a copy of the statement we both signed stating that the issue is closed. I’m working on putting together a case to lodge a complaint with the vet nary board. I’m also prepared to get a lawyer for defamation of character and breach of contract if I have to. What this person is doing is just plain wrong.

I have a very nice woman that wants to buy Abby, she is a widower, living on a farm and just lost her Shih Tzu after 17 years. She would like a companion to live out her days. I explained what is going on and that I will gladly sell her to them but need to clear up this one matter for my peace of mind and also theirs. They understand I hope that I can get this done by the end of the week. I told them that I would get them a Health Cert to ensure that the puppy was healthy completed by a vet.

I’m now planning to provide a health Cert to everyone that gets a puppy from me.

I’m still fuming as I sit here at work. My mind is going a mile a minute and even through she is wrong she has me jumping through hoops just to prove her wrong and restore my name.

youve done nothing wrong and i think by getting vet checks etc and keeping the letters etc you are doing the right thing, but remember this is one person, although she is causing problems it will be sorted out, if need be you could always contact other owners of your puppies and ask them to write a letter saying how the feel with there puppy, im sure once this woman reads these letters she will realise, she is the one off, and that everyone else is more than happy with your puppies xxxx

From what I have had read here hon you are doing everything right in gathering all you can from vets etc and hopefully this will be enough to stop this uncalled for nastiness. I truley am sorry you are having to go through this but please try and keep you chin up and remember that all of us here are behind you 110 %. As are I'm sure previous owners that have had pups from you. I agree with Lia on how right you were to reply nicely although I'm not so sure I could have!!! :D Well done you for not lowering yourself to her level :P Take care .... Paula xxx

Thanks guys. I have an appointment with the second vets tonight after work and have my regular vet writting a summary of the 2 visits, dates and such.

I have explained what is going on to the second vets office, they understand what I'm asking and what I'm needing. They said to bring the statements, vet report with me when I come to the appointment. They will help me in anyway that they can.

I also have a friend of mine working on her end finding out what I can do. Her son in law is a big wig vet-works in Switzerland for a big company. Both my males are from her dogs and so she has this line. My friend feels that they are attacking her sense she has the same line of dogs as me. I have different females. My friend has had this line for over 10 years without problems.

So for now this is all I can do.

It was very hard. I spoke to a friend on the phone for nearly an hour. But in the end I kept it short and let them know I am addressing the problem and let the rest of te BS go.

Here is what my friend told me this morning. She was at work or I would have called her last night.:

Who the hell died and left her boss???where does
she think she gets the right to slam you that way,,,I'm very upset too...I've known you for a long time now,,have talked to people that you've sold dogs to,,,you are highly regarded as a breeder,,,no one cares for their dogs as well as you do,,you put them first........and now she's saying her vets are specialist,, I'm wondering if they're just vet techs...and you're right a grade 4 knee would definitely show up....I sold that Griffie to Canada with what my vet called a grade 3,,,and 6 wks. later her vet claimed it was sound,,,puppies knees sometimes are loose,,I asked my vet about it,,he said they correct themselves a
lot of the time ,,but to go thru so much bitching and what a letter to send you....I just can't wait till your vet reports prove her wrong,,,tell her to tell her child then that she made a big mistake and gave up his pet for no reason,,,,let her go after her vets then.....

If you have dogs running free in your home,,,and with working besides,,you're gonna have messes,,,you would be shocked to see my
floors now,,,they need a scrubbing so bad,,but its just not a priority,,when you have to work out and tend to puppies and dogs at the same time.....you don't have a housekeeper tending to everything, like I suspect she does....She got a bargain on Abbey,,well she just blew it...what is her name,,,her email,,,I want to warn everyone I know about her,,

And you have the right to charge whatever you want
per dog....if you want to charge $150.00 for one and $600.00 for another,,that's you're privilege to do so....and everyone will agree AKC is a pain in the neck,,you gave her good advise on that....

I hate that you're having to deal with this slamming,,You have no choice now but to get the vet statements and send them to
her...she's lucky you refunded her money...she made a contract with you and now all this crap....the woman sounds deranged to me....what does she want,,blood?? she bought a nice dog,,,she admits it was great,,,she takes it to her so called vet ??,,gets a misdiagnosis,,flies off the handle,,returns the dog,,gets her money back....she needs to let it go,,,I can't wait till she hears from your vets that Abbey was sound....

What kind of person strikes out at another when all she did was buy a puppy, returned a puppy, got her $ back,,,she needs to let it
go,,she's got a problem...for sure...you were the one lied to and put
down,,you're the one that has the right to be mad,,,,God,,,the world would such a better place without some people...

Soon as I hear back from my daughter I'll get in
touch....meanwhile follow thru with the vet,,,time to make an ASS out of this bitch....So glad Abbey is out of there,,,When you do,,,you'll need to tell her that you've passed her discriminating letter on to Lhasa apso fanciers,,,and she'll never purchase a dog from any of them....Like to tell her, you don't treat people that way,,

Again, I'm so thankful "Abbey" is back home and out
from under that woman's fanatic ways.....

Keep in touch,,,
Sorry I wasn't home earlier

Sorry to have taken so long getting back to you all. Here is what happened last night. The other vet gave Abby the once over. He had to palpate the knees very hard but did manage to get them to go out. He said that he would give them a grade 2 yesterday. So here is what I have: her vet- grade 4, my vet grade 0 and the last vet grade 2... What does this mean? I"m not sure.

I got home to find a new message from them with more of the same and then some. I called and talked to my friend last night for 2 hours. We didn't reach any conclusion on what to do. I sat down this morning and put together a summary of what has gone on and put it out to a private forum for advise. Will see what they have to say tonight.

My questions are:

Can I sell the puppy to people that want her, let them know that she may or may not have a problem with her knees? (discount the puppy).

Do I keep the puppy until this is over and maybe loose the sale?

What do I do with this person? I want her gone and out of my life. I've tried my best to keep it clean but it is getting harder by the day. I refuse to answer her questions or lies.

I'm thinking of sending some questions to the people that got puppies from this litter and seeing what they have to say. Here are my questions to them:

Are you happy with the quaility of puppy you got from me?
Did I misrepresent myself or my dogs in anyway?
Did I miss lead you at all during the process of purchasing your puppy?
Do you have any problems with my knowledge of the breed or the way I answered any of you questions?
Would you buy another puppy from me in the future?

What do you think?
Any suggestions to my questions?

Thanks

I have to pop out now Bridget but for now, I will say that your questions are absolutely fine but look at it another way, if there had been anything wrong in any way at all with the other pups, don't you think you would have heard from them by now? If this was myself, I would be thinking that they must all be fine because I would have heard otherwise.

If you really want to send these questions out for your own peace of mind, you could just write on the top that you like to keep your files 'up to date' and prefer to ask for feedback and would they be so kind as to answer the 'following' questions. That way, you are not giving anything away if you understand my meaning and it would look as though it is the norm for you to do this as a reputable breeder. Catch up later xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good God Bridget, Im sorry Ive only just picked up on this.

I hope against all hope that you can draw a line under this and move on...and if this means you consulting a solicitor or just forgetting the whole issue, well, only you know the answer to that.
You have to remember that despite EVERYTHING you sold that puppy, little Abby, in good faith. Thats the bottom line.
In the very first email you showed us, its apparent that MONEY is her main concern...and I am wondering if money is her motivation now as well. Is she trying to get more from you? What is her goal? I wonder.
Again, she has quoted "show potential"...hmm...and suddenly - wow - she must have forgotten her son and his emotions before? They werent mentioned before...

HI Bridget, it sounds as though this woman is not going to go away just yet, so I think if it was me in your situation I would send her a short and firm but still polite email, saying that you have honoured your contract by taking the puppy back immediately and refunding her payment. Say you have since had 2 vets give the puppy a thorough examination, you have a statement from your vet stating that Abby was seen before being sold (which she is disputing) and that no problem was detected and that you consider her emails abusive and slanderous and you are considering taking legal action against her.
I don't really know what all the various grades mean, so I can't really advise although I would say that as long as you give the person who wants Abby all the information about a possible problem then I personally can't see why you shouldn't sell her to them. Maybe reduce the purchase price if an operation will be needed in the future, or so that you don't have any come back from anyone.
I also think it's a good idea to get some feedback from your other puppy buyers, just so you can re-assure yourself that you haven't done anything wrong and that this is a one off. They may also come in handy if you do have to go down the route of legal action against this woman.
Hope this helps, this woman sounds like a nightmare!

OK Bridget, it will do you good to take a breather from it hun.
Like I said, she is going from one story to the other...first its the show potential, then the medical assessments, then the price...then the other pups further pups past pups...and OF COURSE, her poor little weeping son. She ought to take him to the doctors and check his reactions are OK cos that took a good few days for him to feel sad.........
Now, onto the subject of her getting personal about your floor. Ho hum. Bridget, come round here.....at the moment Gucci is a walking pee-pot and is peeing everywhere so if you come here you will find one of two......little piddle patches on the floor....or a house that stinks of cleaning fluid. I cant win at the mo!!! She is nit-picking now...surprised she didnt ask you to change the make of your car cos she doesnt like that either??! :D
You sold Abby, as you sell all your pups, to what you thought was a good home, a loving home. Thats the main fault in all of this...she didnt have a loving home. She may have spotlessly clean floors but she aint got an ounce of love or compassion.
She didnt deserve Abby xxx

Sound good advice but what are you going to do if she persists and persists and makes your life a continual living nightmare! She sounds like an evil minded person who has nothing better to do with herself but to spend most of her time harrassing you. Mollymoomoo was correct in what she said but lets hope this does not continue much longer. I also agree with what Nancy has said about the child.............all of a sudden her child is heartbroken :!: ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) (or so she says). I wonder if this child is heartbroken over many other things let alone Abby.............like lack of love and attention from his own mother!!! Maybe I should'nt really say this but to be honest, I think you can see that we are all very irate over this situation. xxxxxxxx

Thanks you guys. You believe the same way I do. If I had all day to sit home and clean my floors they would look great, but sorry I have to work for a living. I do mop them good on the weekends and spot mop during the week. I could see it if there was inches of poo all over the floor but a spot now then. What with all the rain we have had and the dogs outside digging hole...It never ends.

I'm not going to make this person happy no matter what I do or say. I will not give her new information to twist around. She is going to have to find someone new to harrass.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do if she keep going even if I don't respond to her. I guess I can talk to a lawyer about harrassment and breaking a contract.

I can just see everyone that supports me coming to court with me. Who will she have?

Going to see what the others have to say tonight...

You all have good heads on your shoulders so keep the advise coming, maybe all of can figure a way to make her go away.

Also I reckon people have asked this woman wheres the puppy gone, and rather than say THE REAL REASONS, shes covering her back and making out its all Bridgets fault...cos if her friends knew the truth I doubt she would have many friends left.

Okay I got home and read the advise of other breeders that might have been through this. MOst are saying to hit the delete botton. So this is what I plan to do. I'm moving on with things and get our life back to normal. I have removed both pictures of the puppies from the web site.

I have just talked to the people that are interested in Abby. I will know soon if she has a new home. I told them about everything and that I would make sure that I get them copies of the reports from both vets for their records. So they will go into this with full knowledge of what has gone on. I have full confidence that their is nothing wrong with her.

I'm still planning to have Hobo and Bailey checked over on the 16th. I will have my vet write a report for both dogs and then have her check the other dogs knee's on the regular appointment.

I'm feeling much better tonight. Now that I know how others handle people like this I will be better at handling this.

I am very pleased you feel alot better now Bridget - now you need to concentrate on you, your family and your pooches and totally ignore this 'alien'.................she needs to return to the planet she came from because to me, she's not human! Good luck and best wishes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bridget Im so pleased you are feeling brighter and stronger about this...but I do know however you deal with this it will stay with you for a long time...
My "best" friend sent me an email nearly a year ago...one that hurt to the core...and I printed it off and carried it around for a month, I kept re-reading it and wondering if she thought those things of me, did other people feel like that...I felt that was the way I was viewed by everyone...and believe me, its still with me now what she said, but not quite so raw...cos things have happened since then that make me realise if I was as bad as she said, then how come I have other friends? You have to think of all the happy buyers you have had, all the lovely homes found for your puppies...and of all the good that will come in the future. Please.

You are right that this will stay with me a long time. I have learned many things from this. One all the dogs will have their knee's checked in the next year. Hobo and Bailey will be first, then the other will have there's when they get their check ups.

Someone found a link to the person's so called vet experts....guess what they are experts in per their website.......drum roll.....CATS.

To think I lost sleep over experts in CATS and the husband is an expert in CAT Cancer.

I got up this morning early as Hobo wanted out to potty. Got up got my coffee and sat outside on the steps this cool morning watching the dogs playing in the yard. It was nice to sit and watch them carry on. The puppies were playing the big dogs will chasing each other and Indy will pulling on Libbies ears..So nice and relaxing before going to work.

We have a long weekend here..it's the 4th of July.

To sit and watch your beloved pooches playing and doing their own thing must have been very relaxing for you............they are the true 'stars' and it sounds as though you will now have many mornings relaxing with a coffee and enjoy watching your babies do what comes natural..............being themselves, happy and playing! Bless you Bridget. xxxxxxxx

Just wanted to take minute and say that Abby has gone to her new home.
I just returned from a 4 hour trip to meet Abby's new mom and family. We met half from each of our homes. Abby has gone to live with a nice retired women on a farm. Abby will be living with 3 cats and have dogs that will visit. There grandkids that will be around and she will have lots of love and be spoild.

Abby's mom lost her shih tuz after some 17 years. They were tilled to meet her, showed me pictures of where she will be living, the cats that she will be living with and the dog that died. They were even talking of including Abby in a family weddding in a few weeks. I saw 3 smiling faces as they started getting to know her and talked all what she was going to mean to them and their grandmother who is 91 years old. The grandmother lost her dog recently so Abby will be helping 2 people move on with their lives and be happy.

I felt really good leaving her. She is now where she belongs.
The sun is out and life is good.

Ahh Bridget that is great news I am so glad that Abby is going to a home where she will be loved. I believe in fate and it sounds liike these people were meant to have Abby . I am sure she will be a great comfort to them after the loss of their shih tzu . Really pleased to read this ...... a happy ending to all that has gone on.

Bridget, Im actually weepy here because after all that has happened, at last, she has a true home. As I have said before, I have a vivid mind and I picture everything and as I was reading, I could picture Abby running around with all these kind faces smiling when they watch her. I am so proud of you and I am so pleased and so very happy that Abby has found her perfect home. PLEASE keep us informed of her progress xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yes it is a very happy ending to Abby's story. I will be checking in with them in a few days just to make sure that all is going well.

I could tell that they couldn't wait to get Abby home to show her off to Grandma. The boy got to hold her on the way home. He was looking forward to his job for the ride home.

Hi Bridget

Just wondered if you have had any latest updates on Abby and how she is in her new home and how the new owners are coping. I would bet my last dollar that all is well and that there is not a problem with Abby at all. Look forward to hearing xxxxxxxxx
