  I spent some of today grooming my three, stopping, starting etc etc. They were so good, bless them. Lexi was first today (just grooming by the way - not bathing) and she sits there like a good 'un............until I got to between her legs and botty! Whinge, whinge, whinge she went and made more noise because she could see hubby sat at the other end watching as if to say "come and get me".........oh no I thought! Then of course hubby came over with the silly chit chat (that we all do but not at grooming time lol) "hello baby, what you doing"...........more whinge. whinge whinge! In and amongst all this, Lexi constantly licked my hand as much as where she can reach whilst she is being groomed - another delay

So, off went hubby on his errands...............good I thought - I can carry on now and you know, Lexi was a star!! Get my meaning!!! Down she went all done and dusted!!!

Next was Honey ( I usually groom her first by the way) and off we started. Post woman knocked!!! Phone went and again and again - Dulcie!!! Arghhhhhhhhh trying to get on at this time as I had loads to do. Honey just sits and takes 'anything' no matter what! Finally got to the clipping of her claws and trimming of her pads. Phone again - guess who - yes Dulcie!!!!! By this time, Honey had had enough but still, bless her, she stayed put. Honey is another 'licker' by the way.

Now Bruce............   my Bruce!!! A star is he!!! He will do anything I want him to........until the other two start barking and then he's up and frantic to get down (remember I told you that he will jump from any height).......well, he tried and I just caught him by his back end!!! So, I carried on and by this time I was trimming his butt................knock on the door..........I jumped, scissors were ascue and I was............. well lets just say I said a few choice words    . That over and done with, time for pads trimming and claws.......talk about tickle!!!    so as I lifted each paw, Bruce decided he wanted to nibble on my ring - now this proved difficult trying to concentrate on his claws whilst he was nibbling on my ring

Today I decided to 'band' Bruce's head..............guess what, its all out of line now!!! I ask myself sometimes what is the point!!! He looks at me with those beautiful eyes that I dont think any of you have really seen - Pamela, I must take a shot with his hair up - his eyes are to die for!!

I know you are all wondering where I am going with this but the point Im trying to make is that Ive had an eventful day with all three when usually the grooming is quite calm but I do know one thing for sure, they are alot happier when they have had a good grooming session and I enjoy every part of it - as Ive said before, they prefer 'mum' to groom them and not a stranger.

My crackpot pooches decided to then 'rag' each other and go mental and yes, again you guessed it, all the grooming went to pot - now I should really brush them again - am I ? - no way...........they can wait until tomorrow!!!   Hope I have'nt bored you with all this  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sounds like you had a time with them today. Grooming is always a big event in this household

Aw I really enjoyed reading that, and felt like I was there with you!!! I can just picture each of them as they were being done!
Diesel hasnt been groomed as much as he should have done these past few days, so Im looking forward to that tomorrow...just spending some nice one-to-one time with him.
I find grooming is a perfect opportunity to lay down some rules with Diesel...as you know he wasnt the biggest fan of it to begin with...and now he still gives me the "eeeeeerrrrr grrrrrrrrr Im gonna bite yer fingers off" noise, and I ignore him and talk to him in my "serious" voice...and you know he backs down so much quicker now. Its a real good chance for us to have that interaction.
(all the while Stewarts saying "ooooooh whats she doing Deez aaaw do you have to comb him Nancy he dont like it aaaaaw Deez whats up?" etc etc etc) :D :D

:D :D I understand Diesel perfectly from the earlier experiences he had bless him but Nancy, you are doing a fantastic job with him and you will with Gucci too. The 'one-to-one' interaction is the most lovely feeling, to me anyway, as this is a special time together. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

:D :D I agree totally! I gave Diesel a bath this morning, and then dried him and groomed him and he was a little angel...we both really enjoyed it, especially with the new arrival in the house!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
