Hi all...well here are some photos of little Gucci...he arrived about two hours ago and has so far chased Diesel around the garden and fallen asleep!
Diesel has been fine...although been taken for 3 walks by the kids and had a special dinner, so not much time yet to get to know Gucci...though Gucci keeps trying to run after him and Diesel runs off!

Ohhhhhhh My God!!!! He is the cutest thing I ever saw. Hooray, you did it. I am so glad you decided to get him and My God is she adorable. Diesel will be running around playing with him in no time, no worries. I love the picture of him looking up into Xiola's eyes, (assuming that is your daughter). So sweet. I can't wait to hear all the stories & pictures about Diesel & Gucci's budding friendship. Congratulations on your new baby Nancy.

Absolutely fabulous Nancy - what a white fluffball!!!! He is adorable and I love the one when Diesel is behind him looking on!!! All so far, so good...
He ate his dinner and showed us he has absolutely NO etiqutte...climbed ONTO the plate and ate around himself.....
Then he did a bit of chasing Diesel...he was like some kind of stalker... :o
Me and Deez then went for a really long run over the common with Missy...leaving Gucci to do some male bonding with Stewart...came home over an hour later to find him in "tickle tummy" position...Stewart dutifully tickling that tiny tummy!!! :D
He is now in his bed...has cried a little bit and got stuck in the stair gate, but other than that all is going well.
Im feeling quite exhausted now..after everything else thats going on he has worn me out!!!

Well, since my last post I went for a bath. Just got in and Diesel started barking...which he never does upstairs (he usually runs to the back door to do it)...so I got out of the bath, halfway down the stairs and could hear Gucci crying. Silly little fluffball had woken up and tried climbing out of his bed and into Diesels...and got stuck. It was like a scene from Goldilocks...
Anyway, I have now brought his bed into the lounge for safekeeping tonight, and I will sleep down here with him. It seems I hadn't taken into account the gap under my dishwasher nor the fact that he fits through the stairgate. Stewarts gonna "amend" the stairgate tomorrow.
Diesel obviously wanted me to know Gucci was upset...

Good boy Diesel for letting you know Gucci needed you, it's prob a good idea to sleep in lounge with him, I always think it must be awful for them on their first night away from mum :( Luckily it doesn't take them long to get used to their new home. Hee hee hee!! When he was chasing Diesel he had a right little demented face on, like he knew he was aggravating!! :o :D I reckon Diesel's taken to him already, deep down, but hes just a bit freaked out at the moment. Diesel has had soooooooo much attention tonight bless him, bet he feels like a celebrity!
As for Gucci, he seems very confident, very greedy and very speedy!!! :D He tries to run on the laminate flooring and keeps slipping up!!! :D

I know, I don't know how anyone can be so cruel to these lovely little dogs (or any dog or animal for that matter). Just tell yourself that Diesel is getting lots and lots of love now and is having the best time (I bet there's not many Lhasas who get treated to cheese pastys and icecreams and sausages :D ) and he's probably forgotten all about his previous life - I know it's easier said than done, especially when they look so alike, it's bound to hit home :cry: .
I can just imagine Diesel now all tucked up in bed! :D xxx

Well, what a night that was! :o I commend you all for keeping THAT secret from me!!!!!!!!!!! :o :lol: :lol: :shock: :o :D

Me and Gucci settled down at 1am...and by 1:45 I was woken up by his dear little squeaking...I opened my eyes to see he had half gotten out of his bed and his bum was stuck in the bed...he was doing some kind of breaststroke in the air.
So, I settled him back into his bed. And he did it again. And again. And then just cried anyway. And cried a bit more. Then poohed. Then peed. Then cried.
Get the picture?!!
It was 4:30am by the time I had snuggled him back to sleep, and put him back into his bed with a teddy bear to cuddle into.
Why did nobody warn me???!!! :D :D :D :D :D
He is now fast asleep on my coat...Diesel has had a bath and groom this morning, so he too is asleep but up high on the sofa where his little stalker cant get him!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

If you have ever watched The Dog Whisperer with Caesar Romero, Caesar always says a dog does not live in the past, they are in the here and now and here and now Diesel is happy, healthy and has a new friend. He doesn't fret about his rough beginning.

Its me who has the hang-ups, not Diesel...but then certain things he does makes me realise that he has some memory or why would he still fret over people's feet, baseball caps etc...It must just be his conditioned way of thinking and maybe he feels fear but cant remember why...He's gone upstairs now, he has had enough of his little stalker!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well...little Gucci is now in his nursery!!! :D :D :D Well, actually its the downstairs toilet...which is quite a large area. It is tiled, and quiet. And has glass bricks to let light in without having the light on. He has his bed in there, his water bowl, blankets, newspapers, and some toys. I have put him there throughout today to sleep so he has gotten used to it. I shall stay awake a few hours yet to keep checking on him.
The day has gone well. Diesel has approached him a few more times for a sniff, and gone to check him in his bed with me...but when Gucci jumps up Diesel jumps back and runs off. He looks quite scared of Gucci. I hope this doesnt last too long?

Ahh Nancy i'm sooooooooo envious he is just goergous, a real mini me of the wonderfull Diesel ., I have only in my adult life had one , but asyou know am thinking myself of another, although haven't heard if there was a mating? I am sure not, else I know Kevin would have contacted me...... But back the original content here.. I am sure Diesel will love him, But at the moment at your house,there is lots going on with Thomas's accident, (I am looking next to "tough times" for an update}. Deisel is at the mom, weighing up the situation's going on in doors, as we all know, they know when things are not quite right, Deisel certainly knows Stuart is sad ,and anxious, and obv. all your usual routine's are not as they were, so all things considered i think he's doing just fine with little Gucci., I am sure all these things will settle and out of all of this, I think that he will actually bond more with Stuart, I am not saying he hasn't already, but from all you have writtern,I feel you are closest to Deisel, but out of bad times come good, and Gucci has found the perfect time to arrive, when already things are out of kilta,for Deisel,, anyway i have a really good feeling bout all of this. xx

Gucci did much better last night...had a bit of a cry at about 1am, so I brought his bed into the lounge, and without picking him up I just stroked him and he went back to sleep...didnt hear a sound til morning!!

He slept well last night...did really well...and has now got the hang of navigating his way to his bed when hes tired all by himself!!! :D He is a greedy little gannet...troughs his food down and then makes an Olympic-type sprint over to Diesels bowl too!! :D :o :shock:

So glad Gucci slept well last nite hon. Dont worry about Diesel , he will come round. Roxy took quite a while with Holly..if you remember from another post she used to paw Holly away from us all whenever she came near any of us. She soon got used to her and realised she was here to stay :D I didnt leave them alone together until Holly had been with us for about a month I think!!! So its still very early days as far as Deez is concerned :D Before you know it they will be curling up in bed together . :P xxx

He has been real clever and taking himself to his bed today rather than curling up in random corners.....
Tonight there was a 10 minute session where I had both of them playing in the lounge, and Deez was not playing WITH Gucci, but very closely alongside him!! :D Diesel seems more confident today around Gucci. :D

Good news......last night I had a friend round, who was making a huge fuss of Diesel all evening, and when Gucci came out into the kitchen, Diesel played with him!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
What a magical moment.
They circled round each other and Diesel did lots of sniffing and swishing of his tail...and then that funny little paw thing and then some spinning around and "come and play" movements, and Gucci joined in and was really good and didnt get too rough!!!!!!!!!!
It was SUCH a lovely thing to see. Especially after all my worrying!!!
Im so happy!!!

Well, Gucci has stayed awake longer than ever today and only had 3 short naps!
Three times I have found him out by the rabbit hutch all by himself, just sitting there...
He has got another new tooth today...aw bless him!
He is at the moment laid on hubby's front and doing some male bonding.
And Diesel has initiated play all day too!
Wow! What a pleased Mummy I am!!!
