Renal Dysplasia is when the Lhasa Apso's kidneys fail to develop properly.
Symptoms to watch for in your puppy are
1. Excessive thirst and excessive urine
2. Reduced body weight
3. Pale urine

Affected pups fail to thrive beyond two to three months of age, and sadly it can progress rapidly and lead to renal failure and death.
Renal Dysplasia is poorly recognised and sometimes hard to detect in routine lab tests.
If you are at all concerned please seek urgent advice from your vet.

Oh god, you've got me thinking. Does it only affect pups? Wicket has been drinking and peeing a lot recently and his pee is pretty pale (compared to raven's) but i just thought that was like when we drink a lot our pee gets paler. Hmm .... he'll be going to the vets soon for his booster so I'll ask then.
