Have any of you had grooming nightmares? I've had more than my fair share I reckon, but I just wondered if anyone else had.

not really, compared to some hooror stories ive been told, blues coat was cut while i was growing it for the show ring arghhhhhhh, and i had said to the groomer not to cut his coat but only to tidy up his feet and the very ends of his coat, as i was confident enough to do it myself back then
that was the end of that groomer xx

Yes I have had experiences too Kim. The first groomer was good at her job but then I found out she as hitting my pooches so as you can imagine.............she got the sack. The second one, well jesus, she had not long qualified and when I returned to collect my three she said "I hope you dont mind but Ive the cut away the hair around the eyes so they can see better"............"I've also shaved them on their tummies"!
Well I was dumbfounded and I could'nt believe it ................hence to say I never went back and the third, well if she got any more 'mamby pamby" I'd have screamed!!!!! She said that she had a problem with the detangling..................that was the first and last time I used her too.

Thats why I learn't to groom myself!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I had a few bad hair cut incidents, including wicket's current one. The groomer started to cut him about a month ago ish now but she found out her aunt died, so sent him home half cut. Now she's not returning my calls and hasn't made any contact about rescheduling the appointment, so he's booked into anoth groomers on July 3rd. I'm going to attempt to even out his coat a bit myself tonight becuase he looks ridiculous and his coat is getting so matted and tangled because of the length of it. I'm really annoyed about it.

But my main grooming nightmare was the one I've told you about when in the same day the groomer cut wickets testicals with the shaver and left him really sore and cut his eye with her scissors. I've attached a photo of wicket's bits after 3 days of using steroid cream on them and you can still see how swollen and angry they are. The only way he could get any relieve was to lie in this graceful position. He took ages to get over it and is now very wary of anyone going near his bits.

Just to say, thinking of Grim Groomers...I think its up to us all to spread the word...if we have a lovely groomer, let people know...people in the street with their dogs etc...but also, shout loud and proud about the nasties. Dont let another dog go there and suffer. I have told EVERYONE about Diesels nasty experience...and I also sing his current groomers praises - as if you hadnt noticed!!!!!!!!

Well you all would have read about my grooming nightmare but rest assured she'll not be going there again and in future I will be doing it all myself in future, I've even ordered some detangling spray! Hope it works ;)
