How do you all socialise your pooches and do you mainly 'road walk' or are you like me and my 3 and 'free roam'. Lia xxx

Diesel's best friend is Missy, the Belgian Shepherd, who he walks with every night...dry weather is free roaming on the common, and wet weather calls for road walks on leads!!!
Diesel has only been "off-lead" for about 6 weeks, so its still all very new and exciting!
I invite his other Lhasa buddy Maggie round to play, and he is generally friendly with all he meets, despite initial nerves :)

well i dinna take mine to any poochy classes any more, because the closest one is a 50min drive away, so i take them walks about 4 times a day (mum, brother and sometimes dad help) morning, lunch, after supper then last thing at night, they get a variety of walks, to keep them in check, road work to keep nails down (i still trim them) this also keep there pasterns etc in good order, they also get to run in the parks
and this is where we usually meet up with there friends so they can have a play of chase hehehe xxx

Ours is a combination usually, unless it's very wet. We start off cutting across the field/meadow and they are off lead so they can run around or go off sniffing for a bit, then we join the pavement and have a walk around the block to finish off. We've a few different routes because we live on the edge of town, so plenty of fields and country lanes to walk through. If it's very wet we usually just road walk with them. xxx

Same here Debs but with one exception.......................   they will never do 'toilets' unless there is grass so when road walking - which is not alot as its more fields - they try their best to find any tuft of grass and squat all squashed up to do their business - of course I have to pick it up!!

Mollys just the same, has to be grass and not just any grass!! Some of the streets we walk down have grass verges and the council cut these with their big mowers but some of the house owners like to do their own and they are immaculate, cut with tiny precision scissors I swear - anyhoo it's usually one of these that Molly chooses to go on, while I'm stood cringeing hoping they're not looking through the window! I always pick up but I still feel embarrassed!
Ebony just goes anywhere, she's not fussy!  I can just imagine your 3 all trying to go on the same tuft all at once!

Picking back up on the socialisation thing...I have noticed Diesel is much more at ease with other dogs he meets now he is allowed off his lead over the common...it is like he doesn't feel so threatened any more, and knows he can escape them if he has to......but it is a much friendlier experience all round now though! :D

:P :P Well done to Diesel - this really is progress Nancy!!! Im intrigued as to how the Staffie reacted to Diesel - because Ive heard time and time again that Staffie's do not like other dogs and have a tendency to fly at them so of course Im very wary if I see one 'just in case'.........I would be very interested to know xxxxx

The Staffie was actually quite docile,,,it really was!! The Chihuahua was the scariest thing I had seen in my life...wearing a red dress at the end of the show freaked Diesel out even more hahahahahaha!!!!!!!! Honestly, this little snappy Gremlin, yapping at all and sundry, dressed in a red tutu.......you had to see it to believe it!!!!!! It was like Fright Night :D :D
