DIESEL MADE A NEW FRIEND...

This is such a weepy story......its taken me over a week to write it! :roll:
Last weekend I took Diesel to a car boot sale...and had stopped to chat to a friend.
Diesel pulled on his lead, and I spotted he had seen another Lhasa. I gave him slack on the lead, and carried on chatting to my friend...
Suddenly, I heard the lady owner say "OH MY GOD" :o
I quickly looked round, worried Diesel had upset the other dog, and asked if everything was OK. The lady and her husband were both grinning from ear to ear.....and then they explained....
Their little dog, aged twelve, was blind. In fact, he didnt have any eyes. And in the 6 years since this happened to him, he had only growled at other dogs... Here we were, looking down at this little boy who was WAGGING HIS TAIL AND SMILING!
Honestly, it was such a moment. Diesel, was up close to this little dog, and gently brushing his face up against his...and the little dog was happily wagging his tail and smiling. This, they told me, was totally and utterly unthought of since his accident 6 years ago. They were filling with tears and so was I.
I told them about Diesel's eye problems...and what he went through....and the man said to me "Wel, maybe one misfit knows another then"
It was just such an emotional moment. I felt really happy/sad/proud.

oh bloomin eck, im off again (bubblin like a wee girl) i can just imagine our deez being so gentle yet playful with this poor pooch, i bet this really made the couples day to see theyre baby interacting with another pooch instead of being scared of them xxxx

Ohhhh!!! That is so sweet. I would have been bawling like a baby. Maybe the man had a point. They sensed each other's trial & tribulations and had something in common. They are lucky doggies to have you and your new friends as you are lucky to have them.

That is so lovely! You should've arranged for play dates with the other dog! Aww. That story has really cheered me up today.

That particular car boot sale is once a month so Im gonna make a point of going to the next one and trying to find them again...I was so overwhelmed at the time I didnt think to arrange to meet again!!! I would LOVE to see them again, aw this little boy was so sweet xxx

Well......turns out that car boot sale is fortnightly...so I went down today purposely to try and find Diesels new buddy.....and he was there!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
Diesel recognised him straight away, and he in return recognised Diesel...his little tail started wagging straight away and his tongue came out!!! :D :D The (male) owner was so chuffed, and told me his wife had told everybody about Diesel!! She then came running over, Diesel was as delighted to see her!!! Aw it was sooooooo lovely!!! :D We chatted, and I found out where they live, which is quite local, so I asked would they like to bring him round my garden to play with Diesel...they were well pleased...I went off and said I would be back with my number.....However, by this point Joe had wandered off,so I had to go and find him...and then saw an ex-parent from the school, who I hadnt seen in 5 years, and by the time I got back theyd gone :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( Well gutted. The man on the stall nearby said theyd only just left, but I couldnt find them :( :(
Oh well, will go again next time!! :D Aw, he had a little pram cos he cant walk far cos he has a bad heart and arthritis...what a little darling he is... :D
Further on, I got stopped by a lady asking which breeder Diesel came from, as he looks so much like her boy Lhasa,,,,,named Bruce!!! Turns out they are from the same breeder too!! So strange! :D
Incidentally, I didnt buy anything apart from 2 ice creams!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Fantastic story all round Nancy and how upliftintg too. This had obviously made this couples day and I too believe that dogs sense good from bad and sense any problems that are present. Sometimes I wish I could 'read' a dogs mind...............can you imagine this!!!

I am sure you will bump into this couple once again and Im sure Diesel will sniff them out :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well, I took Diesel to the dog show yesterday and guess who was there??? Yes, his little friend Oscar!!! :D :D :D I had forgot that when we were talking the day before I had mentioned it to them...and they had remembered!! Aw, dear little Oscar entered and came second in Most Handsome Boy, and FIRST in best veteran!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D I was sooooo pleased for him!!! And, I gave his Mummy my number so she can bring him round to play! Yipppppeeeee!!

Too right...they clipped his rosette in his hairband!! :D :D And the other one went on his pram!!! :D :D :D :D :D They took photos of him and Diesel too!!
Diesel came 3rd in Handsome Boy, 3rd in Most Appealing Eyes, 5th in Dog Judge Most Wants To Take Home, 2nd in Best Rescue, and 2nd in Best Young Handler...with Joe...did some amazing sit, stay and recall!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Nancy I just love these pics and its fantastic that Diesel and Oscar are firm friends! They look like they were mean't to be friends too - what a great ending to this story with both their achievements on that day. Well done to Diesel & Oscar.

Well done to you also for looking out for the couple and making special trips to get your ice creams.

Lhasa can tell the difference
from a nice person to a not so nice person.

They can also tell if another lhasa has a health problem.

Lhasa's love to interact with other lhasa's,
only reason they don't is if they have not been socialised
or they have had a bad experience.

Would love to read more, if Oscar and Diesel get together again.

Loving this breed, makes you do all sorts of funny things,
things you would not in your wildest dreams do.
