I wouldn't swap wicket for anything. He'll be 2 at the end of this month but he's still just my little boy. Not only was he my first ever lhasa, he was my first ever dog. He's the sole reason for my love of lhasas and if he hadn't been such an amazing puppy then I don't think we would've even considering getting another one. Wicket is my life (sorry Raven - I love you too!). Wicket's story is one I'll save for another day, but I am so glad that he is my little boy.
The photo when he's 5 weeks was just after we brought him home. He was such a good boy. He was in the car for about half an hour or so and waited til we got home and he was out the back before he did his business. I'm so very proud of him.
The poor boy now gets beaten up and bullied by little miss raven on a daily basis but he still loves her.

He was all coat and no body. He hadn't been with his mum for weeks before I got him, and the woman (notice how I didn't resort to name calling) that we bought him from told me to feed him - wait for it - 15 pieces (!!!) of pedigree puppy dog food 4 times a day mixed with water. He got that for the first few days til I bought a bag of it and read the correct amount (she'd given me a carrier bag with some dog food in it when I got him). The poor wee thing was starving. I was raging!
I know I shouldn't have bought Wicket from her. I knew the conditions he was kept in were terrible but I couldn't leave him there. There were only him and his brother left out of 9. No mum. And the brother was going to his home an hour after we left so I couldn't leave him there all alone.

 :x :x :x :x :x my blood is boiling already reading this, not because of what youve written kimberley, but because of what some bl***y F****ng folk will do just to make a pound or two, arghhhhh :x
there are "breeders" well thats what they call themselves up my neck of the woods who are constantly churning out dogs, and its only after theyve had the puppy a few days, weeks that i get calls, emails etc asking for advice and telling me all the troubles they are having with there new puppy, oh god some of the stories bring tears to my eyes xx

Yip. that's why I ended up getting raven from england. I did my research and found good trustworthy folk. I contacted the few respectable breeders central scotland but none were having a litter in my time scale (oh yes, i planned the new pup about 6 months in advance!).
To make you all feel better, the woman (i've deleted what I originally typed here) was getting investigated for puppy farming and I think she has been charged. But to incense you further - she shows her dogs in obedience and is an obedience judge. She is also an accredited and well renowned breeder in her own breed and basically the lhasas were to make money - I spoke to folk who have known her for years and they didn't even know that she bred lhasas. (Part of my reason for trying so hard with wick at obedience was so that he would come up against her and folk would see his affix!)
Obviously I can't say too much as people on here might know her and I could land myself in hot water, but it's a disgrace that someone like her is so high up in the dog world and she has a disgusting background. She should lose her affix.
Sorry, I'm starting to rant and it just makes me so angry.
I'll start a whole other thread and spell out the full story. Basically she puts up a front and then just as we were leaving with our new puppy (I got a whole story when i asked why he was so young) she said "Oh. You can have the litter blanket for him since no one will be sleeping in the bed from now on" ... and proceeds to go out the back into an unlit unheated hut with a cardboard box with one wee blanket in it and a lot of filth and gave me the blanket. I was appalled. I just took wicket and left. I always wonder what hapened to the other pup that was left.
Incidentally - wickets mum ended up in my home town and even went to the same groomer but the folk that bought her (for £500 after she had 5 litters in as many seasons) were talking about getting her charged for animal cruelty because of the state of his mum.
As I said, it's a long story.

Im so upset and angry at this I feel so cross. That is a disgrace. I think we all know what you would prefer to have called her...and yes a wise move not naming her on here hunny... ;)
It really is a shocking dosgrace that people will do this to make a few quid. No matter what, these little puppies are babies, they need their mummies and they need love. And they need their owners to check who they are going to live with.
I dont mean to harp on about Diesel's history, as Im sure I do, and I apologise for that...but look what he was condemned to...Ten whole months pf his little life shoved in a cat box under the stairs facing the wall....box got kicked if he barked, I expect he had one or two as well.
And he was sold for £750...

Sorry Kim
Ive only just picked up this post of yours. I cannot believe what has happened here with this thing called a breeder!!!!!!!!!! I am absolutely disgusted with this situation and hope to god she gets banned for life from owning any dog!!!!! It's ppl like her that need to be stopped once and for all, it makes me sick. I wish I knew where she lived because I would set the ball bloody rolling!!!!!! Im just flabberghasted that she is classed as 'accredited' - this is a joke!
You followed your heart and did the best thing in taking Wicket and getting him out of this appalling environment and I just hope to god his brother found a safe and loving home.
How the hell did these pups survive at 5 weeks old without their mother??????? No milk, no nothing!!! I am raging here.......................this low-life should receive some of her own medicine!!!!!!!

My friend also had to take her pup at 5 weeks from its home...she also took the one her friend had chosen...it was Christmas Day, and they were all sat eating a Christmas dinner...at 5 weeks old....and drinking coke.
Thankfully the RSPCA got involved and the breeder had her dogs taken away.
